Mark Jackson to Visit 49ers

Warriors coach Mark Jackson will visit 49ers headquarters in Santa Clara Wednesday, taking a look at how Jim Harbaugh runs a practice.

There are some similarities between Harbaugh and Jackson and their respective situations. Both are first-year coaches, both played professionally and both have dealt with a lockout in their rookie seasons.

One difference, however, is that Jackson hasn’t coached at any level, but Harbaugh has coached at San Diego, Stanford and now the 49ers.

Jackson is expected to be made available to the media after the practice. It will be the first time since July 1 — when the NBA lockout first started — that Jackson will be able to address personnel issues.

Jackson will not be able to comment — according to Warriors PR — about any aspect of the current collective bargaining agreement, still being finalized. In other words, Jackson won’t be talking about which player – if any – the Warriors will amnesty.

Baron Davis tweet: "I am not involved"

Davis, of course, is the face of the “We Believe” Warriors of 2007. But Nate Llorando, who is putting on the event, never said Davis was a lock to come. Llorando said that former Warrior Matt Barnes was trying to convince Davis to attend the event.

Late on Wednesday, Davis used his Twitter account to announce he wasn’t a part of the charity game.

“FYI, I have no involvement in this Bay Area game I’m hearing about,” Davis wrote. “I’ve heard my name mentioned but I am NOT involved.”

Expected to play are: Stephen Curry, Charlie Bell, Dorell Wright, Jeremy Lin, Jeremy Tyler, Jason Richardson, Kelenna Azubuike, Anthony Morrow and Barnes. Morrow wasn’t a member of the 2007 team, nor is he on the current team, but may play along with some others to fill out rosters.

Regardless of whether Davis plays or not, Barnes has indicated that the game will happen.

Steinmetz: "We Believe" Warriors vs Current Warriors for Charity

I’m hearing there’s a chance some current Warriors and some ex-Warriors could be getting together for a charity basketball game later in October.

Apparently, plans are in the works to get a game together between current Warriors and the “We Believe” Warriors from 2007.

Still trying to nail down some details, but Baron Davis, Matt Barnes, Jason Richardson and Stephen Jackson all might be playing for the “We Believe” team. Maybe Al Harrington, too.

The spot for the game is likely to be the San Jose Events Center, with Oct. 29 possibly being the date.

In case you forgot, the “We Believe” team had J. Rich, Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Mickael Pietrus, and Matt Barnes. Kelenna Azubuike hasn’t played since he injured he blew out his knee at the beginning of the 09-10 season, Adonal Foyle retired, and Patrick O’Bryant and Sarunas Jasikevicius are in Greece. Which side will Monta and Andris take?
